从前有一个老妇人住在一只鞋里。

She had so many children...

她有很多的孩子。

There was Hannah and Harry...

他们是汉娜和哈利……

and Sare and Sam.

萨雷和山姆。

There was Aisha and Abdul...

艾莎和阿卜杜勒……

and Daisy and Dan.

黛西和丹。

There was Gwen who was greedy...

还有贪婪的格温……

and Stan who was small.

和个头小的斯坦。

There was Sean who was short...

肖恩个子矮……

and Tom who was tall.

汤姆很高。

There was Jasmine and Jeremy,Sandeep and Grace...

有茉莉和杰里米，桑迪普和格蕾丝……

Boys and girls all over the place.

到处都是男孩和女孩。

Ying and Yasmin, Jacob and Joe...

英和雅斯敏，雅各布和乔……

squeezed in together, with no room to grow.

挤在一起，没有成长的空间。

"This shoe is too full,"said the woman,one day.

这个鞋子太满了，老妇人说。

"We must get another.I‘ll look right away.’"

“我们必须再找一个。我马上就去看。”

With a list of the shoe stores...

带着鞋店的清单……

she went to them all...

她去寻找他们……

But the boots were too tiny...

但是靴子太小了……

and the shoes were too small.

鞋子也太小了。

She was on her way home...

她走在回家的路上

by the side of a river,

来到小溪边

when she met a huge giant.

当她遇到一个巨大的巨人。

He gave a sad shiver.

巨人伤心地打了个寒噤。

"Please help,"sobbed the giant.

“请帮帮我。”巨人抽泣着说。

"There's a crab on my toe."

“我的脚趾上有一只螃蟹。”

The old woman took hold ...

老妇人抓住了……

and pulled it off-just like so.

就这样把它拔了下来。

"Thanks !" said the giant ."Now,can I help you?"

“谢谢!”巨人说，“现在，我有什么能帮到你的吗?

"Well ,"said the woman, "I would like your shoe."

“太好了。”女人说，“我想要你的鞋。”

"Of course,"said the giant and he gave her his shoe.

“当然可以。”巨人说着把鞋给了她。

"And for being so helpful take the other one too."

“你帮了我大忙，另一支你也拿去吧。”

Now all the chidren have space to have fun.

现在所有的孩子都有空间玩耍了。

And the little old woman can knit in the sun.

小老妇人可以在阳光下织毛衣了。
